What materials may I check out?

Our library location contains over 50,000 books and 6,000 DVDs.

Tuzzy Library is also part of the Alaska Library Catalog and offers access to over 6 million items statewide including, books, DVDs, ebooks, audiobooks,. journals, newspapers, music CDs, youth activity sets, and more.

How long may I keep library materials?

  • Books: 30 days
  • DVDs and music CDs: 7 days
  • Best-sellers: 2 weeks
  • Journals and newspapers: 3 days

What technology services does the library offer?

The library offers a variety of technology services including: 18 PC computers for patron use. Laptops for in-library use. Open Wireless network. Videoconferencing service. Photocopier/Scanner. Printers (1 black & white, 1 color). Projector and screens for presentations.

Are there fines for late materials?

Tuzzy Library does not have fines for late materials. There are fees for lost and damaged materials, and materials borrowed from other libraries are subject to late fines and fees from the owning library.

What programs are offered at Tuzzy?

Tuzzy Library offers a wide variety of programs for all ages, including: Crafternoon, Family Storytime, Family Movie Nights, Summer Reading, Lecture Series, and more! Please see the library homepage for our events calendar and upcoming event information.

How can I contact the library?

Where is the library located?

Our address is 5421 North Star Street, Utqiagvik, AK 99723. We are located across from the AC store, in the same building as the Iñupiat Heritage Center. We also have locations in seven North Slope Village School Libraries through partnership with the North Slope Borough School District: Anaktuvuk Pass, Atqasuk, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Hope, Point Lay, and Wainwright.
